Such an agitated times! All were fine till the last blue night. It was simple, enjoying Red light on the car, staying in the government bunglows in the lush vegetation; looking everywhere else outside mycar but at the bunch of cavities dispersed on the road, pungent Nalas along the roads. Yes I am your favourite Netaji, favourite in the sense you elected me to represent you. Really life was an easy beat and good playing.
But then one man and his team came up with the never happening anti-corruption bill and uttered our respected government to include ourself in the scope of the Jan Lokpal Bill, amending bill drafted by us. An average heighted, 74 years old, wearing white Khadi and Gandhi Topi, about 1cm thick eye glass, and looking like an ordinary old man. They called him Anna, Anna Hazare.
Some couple of weeks before, he went public and started demanding this bill to pass in the legislative assembly. However, our Respected government succeeded to persuade him that time. Then our super-slim Baba came up to show his yoga stunts and asked the devotees not to give-take Bribes. Initially, head public servants in the commeetee cordially received him and showed some signs of Grattitude on his arrival. Then Gup-Shup started to refrain Baba from fasting but looking Babas low intensity of campaign, they wiped out his canvass from Ramlila maidan.
Such a Summer of discontent this time that had never seen before. Clans of Students, Engineers, Hawkers, Shopkeepers, Celebrities, Government servants excluding me, and every other being who can walk and who cant, holding Candles in their hands and protesting against corruption. Some are holding Placards writing "I am Anna, You are Anna, we all are Anna". How can our Sarkar manage with so many Annas like you when only one Anna can dismantle the Stage. Some of you, even asked comically, "Can we Bribe government to pass Lokpal?". First, we wisely arrested Anna before he go on fast in the early dawn itself, but unable to cope with the thousands, it seems better for us to produce release orders - which in turn he refused and stayed in the Jail till we agreed on timings for the Campaign extension.
When one TV channel asked U.S. secretary if they are supporting Hazare's movement, they (McCain) stated - we are not dealing with or we dont want to comment on these issues. Ofcourse - How can U.S. comment on these issues when their own government incapable to deal with treacherous promises. Then I saw a ragamuffin boy who is incompetent with his leg but slithering, with one candle in left hand and wearing "I am Anna" cap. Yanked out from my confort zone, I grilled myself - Why he needs clean and smearless system even when he had never been asked to give Bribe? Why this poor boy protesting againt Inducement?
Unable to resist inner voices, I accosted poor boy and asked why he is supporting Anna. His reply propeled pines in my head.
He said - "I am a beggar living on the next Square. My name is Ajmal. I am here to support Anna for his movement. I know his demands are for us and thus he can ameliorate our condition. There are so many Ajmal's like me residing on every square, in every city in India. Still I dont find anyone who really wants to listen us. Solicitors like us implores for our family and for someone who trained ourself for begging. They take part of our income as a Hafta for begging in their areas. These high class dodgers then pay to local authorities, a part of their source, as these authorities allowed them to do so. If you count on every such autorities unauthorised income, it will make us 2 times food each day. These authorities not only take bribes or say Haftas from ourself, Chaiwalas, Rikshawalas, Bhelpuri walas each one is paying bribes to them as Haftas. To the maximum, upper steps of this ladder like you are one step ahead of these people. You are not only taking ordinary man's money to foreign accounts but also feeding them when they come to India. And addition to that, you cares for the one who attacked on 26/11. Why are you people so worried about killing one Ajmal who attacked us, though there are so many Ajmal's in India that needs to be cared and are part of our own country?? I support Anna because I know how Ajmal's like me are living and we want this government to use our money on us not on Ajmal's like 26/11. The square at which I stay is the real Jail, not Tihar or anyother super sophisticated Jail."
Critisicms rained upon us. His rebellion justification trumpted me to change my views for this revolution. I felt, this is not an ordinary protest but the protest which will hammer the rotten roots of Corruption so hard that all Khadis and Khakis like us will be bend to change. I prognosticated our future and compared condition till yesterday when we ruled and did all those things that we want to. May be it is Common wealth money, 2G Bidding, Land Acquisition for our brotherhood builders, we manipulated where ever we wanted to. Images of defamation and dishonourism conquered on me and I felt complete darkness. I decided to be with Ajmal for his movement, after all we can be Ajmal if India's youth wanted us to be so.
I was silently listening to the riots till abruptly my cell ranged. TO BE CONTINUE
